I'm a little late on posting this one. Last weekend I had a tea and crafting party. I always enjoy putting together a menu for these events. Finding the balance between flavours and types of baked goods, and something that won't stress me out too much. I didn't have a ton of time for baking last weekend so I put together something pretty modest. At the last minute I panicked that I didn't have enough stuff and threw together some rice crispie squares. Well, I was very wrong on that front but I am sure my coworkers enjoyed the baked goods.
Cookies first...I made cherry almond tea cookies (dough that was frozen from my catering event), peanut butter chocolate chip cookies (always delicious), and some gluten-free puddle cookies (recipe here). The gluten free puddle cookies were a bit sweet for my taste but others seemed to enjoy them.
I also made lemon squares, rice crispie squares, banana bread and vanilla bean scones that were recently posted by Michelle at une-deux-senses. I have tried a few recipes from her blog and they always turn out beautifully! This was no exception.
Finally, I made some coca cola cupcakes from their website. These were not very good. The cake part was kind of bland and the icing was super sweet and lumpy because of the coke. I liked the idea of the little gummy coke bottles on top but I don't think I'd make them again.
